So recently I made a review for a Valkyrie Costume that I wore to a convention called Dragoncon and was in love with. Now on to the second costume I wore at Dragoncon – Elastigirl.

If you haven’t seen the movie “The Incredibles” – what are you waiting for? No just kidding. But if you really have no clue who Elastigirl is, she is pretty much the younger version of Mrs. Incredibles and made her debute in the first Incredibles movie. Here’s a picture of what she looked like:

Elastigirl Costume Review – Shipping

So first things first, I originally did not plan to be Elastigirl. Randomly, I decided that I wanted a second costume at hand during Dragoncon (which was a good idea, by the way). And with Dragoncon only 3 days away, I decided to check for costumes that would arrive within those 3 days. After searching and searching and searching, I had found this costume via Amazon Prime. And immediately I thought “…oh yeah! What a great idea!!” It was a simple solution, and wasn’t expensive at all for both the costume and shipping. So naturally, I bought it.

And of course, since I have Amazon Prime, the shipping was actually too good. I purchased the item on August 26th and it arrived on August 28th. And in total, I paid 30 bucks.

As of today, 9/23/18, I see that they’re MORE sellers who have them for much cheaper prices (lowest price I see is $27 along with free shipping). Just make sure to check out reviews of the sellers first! As for reference, I bought it directly from Amazon Services’ store.

Now for a review of The Actual Elastigirl Costume…

I’m not going to lie – I was a bit scared when purchasing the costume. The price was just a bit too good and I’ve had bad experiences shopping on Amazon before.

In addition, to make things even more risky, I didn’t even try on the costume before I left my house for the weekend, since I was in such a rush. The first time I wore the costume was the first time I tried it on.

However, and THANKFULLY, I actually liked it! It looked JUST like what is in the picture, and came with the necessary items. The only issue I made was ordering the costume in the wrong size 🙁 . For reference, my measurements are 32C-26-36. I was scared that the costume might be a bit too skin-tight and ordered a size Medium instead of a size small. However, I really should’ve gotten a small….

In addition, the red belt kept sliding down, though that might be because of the size I got. In order to keep it up, I had to use body tape (my number one life saver, all the time) in order to tape the belt to my waist.

But other than that, everything else was really good. The costume was also very stretchy, form fitting, and didn’t feel cheap at all. Here is the link to the costume.

Also, I wore this costume outside in 89 degree weather and didn’t feel too hot at all. Here’s a picture of me in the costume (on the right):

As you can see, I really didn’t go all out. I just needed something that I can put on in 5 minutes with no hassle. However, if you really want to go all out, then check out the following section I made. I did some research and found some items you can add to the costume to make it look more like the character Elastigirl!

The other necessities for the Elastigirl costume

Want to make your costume look even more like her? Well here are some suggestions I would recommend:

  • Red short bob wig

Well of course if you want to look like the character, you would need the hair to match. If you don’t want to dye + cut your hair, I found this listing on Aliexpress specifically for Elastigirl’s wig.

Or, check out the following listing on Amazon. The wig looks similar, but instead you can get it via Amazon Prime (and they also offer free one-day shipping)

  • Black gloves

If you look closely at the costume I’m wearing, you would see that the arms are more like sleeves and doesn’t contain black gloves. But in the picture above, Elastigirl is wearing gloves. I would recommend getting a faux leather pair – possibly one that extends all the way up to your elbows, such as this pair from Amazon:

  • Black boots

Personally, I chose to wear knee high black boots. But if you want to look just like her, you can see that she’s not wearing boots – she’s actually wearing high heels that are some how connected to her superhero suit.

I think these boots will give you more of a realistic look.

Any type of black knee high boots would work.

And that’s it! Hope this review of the Elastigirl costume was hopeful. Let me know if you have any questions or comments below 🙂
